Pelevun is a small village located West of the town Ivaylovgrad, Bulgaria. It is a characteristic one. Everywhere you see donkeys. Local people in colourful clothes are working between the tobacco and sesame plants.
The owners of Kaloyanovi kashti (The houses of Kaloyan) take care of a herd of 100 cattle. They restored two of the houses in the village where cozy guest rooms are provided to visitors. A small restaurant and local shop are also part of the family business.

Both houses offer 5 guest rooms. The village Pelevun kept its authentic look, so you’re surrounded by stone roofs and traditional brick architecture. Local people come to the restaurant every evening to drink an aperitiv and chat about life.
The decoration of the rooms is very traditional and sophisticated. Each room has a private bathroom. All is nice and clean, the yard is colourful because of the beautiful flowers, parking is on the street in front of the house.
Pelevun is a village in Southern Bulgaria from where you can see the border with Greece. Small, cozy with a nice square, a beautiful church and tiny historical museum (ask the owner Miro if you want to visit this). The village is surrounded by nature areas and historical sites.
Keep in mind that payment in villages in Ivaylovgrad area is possible only cash. The cash machines and bank offices are in the town Ivaylovgrad (28 km from Pelevun).
